Luxenburg Casino Orchestra – Scented Roses, Waltzes (Joseph Daly) (1911)

The Luxenburg Casino Orchestra, likely conducted by Albert Ketelbey, plays ‘Scented Roses,’ recorded in London in about August 1911.

The Luxenburg Casino Orchestra was a studio group that played light music and did so rather well.

Credit for this upload can go to Martin Arnold, who latterly uploaded a Luxenburg Casino Orchestra title on his excellent site and thus prompted me to play over some of the Luxenburg Casino Orchestra records that are sitting on my shelves.

‘Scented Roses’ is a delightful Edwardian waltz. Despite the pristine label, a former owner clearly greatly enjoyed this side. Apart from wear, I had to deal with an unfixable jump groove – by invisible (hopefully!) mending. But I think it was worth the effort: and I’ve just downloaded the sheet music, which might be worth trying over!
